scale-helpThere’s so much doom and gloom today and people are in a rut…..in so many areas of their life.  I find it can be tough for people trying to gain control of their weight, get healthier and feel better.

When trying to lose weight, many people can’t get moving or get stuck.  You don’t know where to begin, or you’re already going and then roadblocks get in the way keeping you from moving forward.

In order to help you live your best life, I’ve decided to shake things up a bit with some good news:  a contest!

I’m having a Get Out of The Diet Rut Contest, and here are the details and how you can enter:

What You’ll Win:

An hour long one-on-one “Get Out of The Diet Rut” Session with me, Dinneen Diette.  In this session I’ll determine your three biggest diet roadblocks and provide personalized strategies for crushing those barriers that you can use right away making your weight-loss easier and more productive.

The way to lose weight effectively and keep it off is getting clear on where you get stuck.  I’ll uncover that and design an effective approach suited just for you.

How To Win:

Write one or two paragraphs about your biggest weight-loss or diet challenge and post it on your blog or Facebook with a link back to www.EatWithoutGuilt.com.   Then email info@EatWithoutGuilt.com with your entry.

OR — if you don’t have a blog or Facebook account, don’t worry because you CAN still enter!!  Either:

1)  Leave a comment in the comments section below, or

2)  Email your entry directly to info@EatWithoutGuilt.com

That’s it  and you’ll be entered!!  So easy.

Contest Rules:

Three winners will be chosen at random on April 21, 2009.  You’ll be contacted to schedule your session right away.

Dear Dinneen, if it’s “randomly chosen” it’s really a raffle, not a contest. I always consider contests to be something that are talent or merit based….
Have you ever seen (or read the book) “The Prize WInner of Defiance, Ohio?” It’s such a cool and inspiring story of this woman who basically supported her entire family by entering and winning tons of contests, but as soon as they went to “chance” rather than actual TALENT, it was all over for her.

I don’t have anything against raffles but they have nothing to do with talent, need, or merit. So please don’t call it a contest!

@Foodie McBody — interesting point. I didn’t want to base it solely on “merit” as it would be very tough for me to say who needs or merits it more. And it’s not about talent.

But to enter one does have to write something so it’s more than just entering or buying a ticket. They need to write & think about what is their biggest challenge, and for many that is stepping a bit out of their comfort zone Often just knowing what the challenge IS, is the first step to getting over that hurdle or at least knowing where to get help.

Thanks for your input. I haven’t heard of that book, maybe I’ll check it out :-)

    I see your point – it’s kind of a cross between a contest and a raffle. Maybe it’s a craffle. :-)

Oh, you’d love the book. It’s very inspiring (and funny too). The author is Terry Ryan, and it was also a film. Put it on your Netflix queue!

Ok, I’m game. My biggest challenge is me. I have no self control – I eat fairly decently, I guess. Whole wheat bread, bagels. pizza crusts, tortillas (if I have them) that we grind the wheat ourselves and make at home. I also cook most of our meals at home – very few convenience foods – maybe canned broths sometimes or canned tomatoes, but that’s about it.

I use real butter, bacon fat, or olive oil for fats; we drink whole, organic milk.

I stopped measuring my food, though. So…I eat until I am stuffed! And then, if I’m stressing, I still have chocolate!

Nor do I exercise like I should. If I get to clean the bathroom or sweep the floors, I’ve done my share of exercixe for the day (unless it’s grocery day, then I do walk around Sam’s & the grocery!)

I hope I win. I need something to get me in gear! Thanks for the contest!

My biggest challenge is chocolate and carb cravings, and no willpower over those cravings! I also am extremely obese (there, I said it) and am getting back into the exercise habit, slowly. I fear, though, that my body will acclimate to the exercise level, and if I stop exercising for any reason, that the weight will pile on.

I start out the day raring to go, but even after a balanced breakfast, start getting a craving for something sweet after breakfast, then by 11 am, I’m hitting the chocolate and/or chips for something salty and crunchy.

I’ve got two children I don’t want to pass my bad eating habits on to. The older one is doing well so far, but I worry about the baby. They both have strikes against them already with diabetes issues on both sides of the family.

My husband would love to see me eating whole foods, and give up the chemicals and artificial sweeteners. I would just love to feel healthy again.
